autoSONIC: options

autoSONIC continuous slicer                autoSONIC with top drive

The autoSONIC rotary portioner provides an automatic in-line cutting solution for cutting round or slab products into variable portion sizes.  A servo-driven rotary ultrasonic cutting head is used to provide a precise and extremely clean cut to the desired number of portions, whilst maintaining the centre of the product.

The autoSONIC semi rotary slicer is built from the same basic footprint as the entry-level slicer.  It can be used to produce wedges, cubes and slices from blocks and extruded products.

These machines are available as single or twin lane, and can be adapted to meet your specific needs by adding in a range of options, including:

  • Additional conveyors for stack, shingle, reject and portioning
  • Servo top drive with vacuum or mechanical gripper
  • Laser scanning
  • Pre-scale weighing
  • Check weighing
  • Encoder technology to synchronise the speed of extruded products for continuous, highly accurate cut-control

more information

Ultrasonic cutting involves high frequency sound waves being generated through a sonotrode oscillating at 20,000 times per second (20kHz). The sound waves are concentrated and evenly distributed along the leading edge of the sonotrode, thereby creating a very effective and unique cutting system. The amount of movement (amplitude) can be varied to suit the product, normally varying between 40 and 80 microns. The generator is housed in the rear control panel and provides the power to the titanium sonotrode via a stainless steel housed transducer and booster.
